CAMPING TRIP!

We went camping last weekend and had a blast, sadly it was the first time that we had taken our little family camping in almost two years - With the exception of my parents cabin on Mt. Graham last summer. But it was a great experience. It is amazing how you feel when you get away from it all (all meaning laundry, phones, deadlines, work, tv, etc.)
Well we didn't mess around - being pregnant, I did not want to starve. So we had taco salad for dinner and for breakfast we had pancakes with bacon and eggs, we had delicous sweet snacks and desserts and sodas and we definately did not go hungry.
We went exploring on our quad Saturday most of our time. We found water twice and both times the kids found where they could spend the whole day, throwing sticks and rocks into the water.

Kira sincerely thought after watching Cooper pee outside the whole time that she could too. At home she always takes her pants off and her diaper and says "peepee" and out in the woods with no toilet she Did NOT want Mommy to hold her and help her pee so she kept taking her diaper off no matter what Mommy would say and she would arch her back like Cooper does and try to let it flow. I am very glad she did not succeed.

Kira walked right into the water and never even had a clue.
This pond was right in the middle of a huge meadow, it was so beautiful.

Despite the beanies with hats they were wearing around:
The kids were just giggling and soaking it all in the outdoors-especially the sun-oops, I am a bad Mommy, I forgot to put sunscreen on their faces so they both and I got a little souvineer.

Everytime Kira would say "up" when she felt she was behind or tired of walking she would come to me and I would send her to ask Daddy, and since neither Mommy or Daddy can resist her when she wants something she is pretty spoiled. She always knows that all she has to do is be sweet and cute and she rules the world.

Reggie very much enjoyed showing Cooper the animal signs in the forest. The Bear signs and the Elk Poop(yipee) and especially the Elk rubs where the Elk rubs their antlers in the tree. Cooper is his Daddys son and loved to be taught about anything and everything.

Cooper really loves his Daddy and loves to help so does Kira, even if she is normally causing more trouble between falling over and getting hurt to taking off with your stuff, but they both really are the best little helpers.

We really had so much fun, camping always makes me feel like a pioneer. Even if we used krusteaz pancake mix =) not to mention every other luxery we had comparitively.
As soon as the sun started going down Cooper told us we needed to go to be and take a nap. He loved the tent, by the time dinner was made and cleaned up and smores were eaten(You can't go camping w/ out smores, and roasting marshmellows-even if you hate eating marshmellows, which I do, I still like to roast them and with a little graham cracker and chocolate-mmmmmmm) Anyway we finally made it to the tent around 8:30 or 9. For some reason when we got in the tent Kira started screaming and would not stop. At first I thought she was just throwing a fit and I was a little frustrated but I kept trying to calm her down. But when minutes went by and she never stopped I asked Reggie to give her a blessing, it was amazing. As soon as he put his hands over her head she stopped her histarical crying and didn't budge or make a peep the entire blessing or the rest of the night. She fell asleep about 2 minutes later. I am so greatful that Reggie holds the Priesthood and is able to bless our family.

Well, we are alive. Sometimes I do wonder how. A couple of weeks ago we(me and the kids) went to Tucson for my niece Eden's 8th birthday. I was pretty exhausted from the day before when our washing machine flooded our bathroom closet and part of our bedroom. We had to clear out our closet and move our desk which is not small, and some other furniture. It was crazy and since it was about 6 or 7pm before we realized it and with no plans for dinner yet I thought Reg and I weren't going to eat for a long time. Reggie called his parent and they and Reggies brothers came over and helped us out. Margie went home and got their dinner and brought it back to share with us. What a blessing it was to have family close by to help and feed us. She brought Enchiladas - mmmmmmmm were they good. I am very lucky to have great in-laws.

Well our house is still in shambles but getting there. I should be working on it right now, but I thought I'd take a short break. It wouldn't be such an ordeal but I suppose I have some of my great-grandmothers blood, because I don't want anything back where it was. I love to move furniture-poor Reggie, especially while I'm pregnant and he gets stuck with most the moving. But I figure if we have to move it anyway - well what the heck why not re-arange. He still doesn't know that I am planning on moving the bed;) If you don't move furniture I totally suggest it because it is very refreshing.

Well I tried posting some pics but it's not working. Catch ya later.

Imagine giving birth to eight!

Our dog was in heat a couple months ago but we weren't sure if she was pregnant until a few weeks ago, and so for the past week or two we've been checking on her and watching her pretty close...
Yesterday morning when Reggie left for work he told me she was acting funny, so in the morning when I woke up(much later than Reggies 4:30 am) I went looking for her with no luck. I knew she was having her puppies, because she never leaves home. When I looked in her dish it still had food - yet another sign of having her puppies. The kids and I ate breakfast and drove around a little with no luck and since I didn't feel up to walking the creek with two little ones and a big belly, Reggie came home from work and helped. We never found her. But around 2pm she just showed up all bloody, skinny, and very thirsty-she had her puppies. Now where were they? And were they alive?

We found the puppies in the bottom of our neighbors chimney(all covered in ashes).
The birth was a success. And she is a great mother.
Here is a picture of the absolutely exhausted Missy after giving birth to eight!

Cooper told us they wanted their mommy. He calls the puppies little Missy's.

There are 4 males and 4 females. All are black except one chocolate female.
